Thanks to #delhirains, I ended up a little later than the scheduled time. However, the event finally started rolling after 8pm. The idea behind the Boot Camp was to get people acquainted with their recently launched Music Store. Yes, I know, it sounds like an iTunes clone. But then again, how many of us has a better idea of a music store?

While the show started off with a little demonstration of the Music Store, the quiz that followed, was a great way of forcing people to navigate within their software. However, I have, and shall continue to have, a complaint against all the major mobile phone manufacturers for not publishing softwares for the Linux platform. So, naturally, I wasn’t too excited about their offering.

And then there was this awesome performance by a fusion band called Advaita. What can I say? I hadn’t heard of them ever before but the kind of music they played, along with the effect of live music, you could die to get immersed within that environment. Yes, you guessed it right, their music is highly recommended!

On the whole, it went great. It was good to meet up with @jeetblog, @techim, @abhishek, @twilightfairy, @realin and @kinshuksunil. Oh yes, a special mention for the Bloggers’ Mind’s team because they even hired us cabs to go back home

All thanks to the Delhi rains

Recent rains in Delhi seems to have lashed out at and affected almost every spectrum of the social strata. The roads have witnessed traffic jams that were over 13 kilo meters long. Well, neither did I get spared.

Despite the heavy rains in the morning, I just had to attend office today. Hence started my fight to go out in the open and hail for an auto rickshaw. After half an hour’s worth of waving both my hands in mid-air, reality dawned upon us (my room mate works in the same company as I do) and decided to go back home. Little did I realize that, in the process, I would manage to get my laptop (lent by my office) all drenched by DHMO (dihydrogen monoxide). Despite an hour-full of tinkering, all I could taste was failure. However, thanks to my girlfriend’s thumping, it’s finally back and roaring!

Oh yes, did I mention that the water also managed to screw up the keyboard’s backlight of my BlackBerry? Nah, it’s still broken. I guess, I shouldn’t have prayed so hard for the rains, after all.

It’s been a while since I landed up in the capital city of India, Delhi. Why? Well, let’s just leave it at that, shall we? Before I landed up here, a lot of my friends, and family, had made me believe a lot of cow-shit about this monstrous rape capital. And oh boi, did they not succeed! 8 months down and I felt Delhi has a ‘culture’ of its own, something very different and cut-off from the rest of this impoverished country, full of pseudo-intellects. It’s a city that has, along with a hue of colors, a helluva lot of flavors too. While I am still in the process of figuring out my love-hate relationship with Delhi, I wanted to share my experiences with you too, to understand this city a lot better, to understand the people within, to enjoy the (mis)adventures with more vigor and vibe.

Yes, I, too, might wither off to the oblivion some day. But till then, let’s enjoy the journey together.
